"I am thrilled to be part of ‘Rana’, which is a period film," Superstar Rajinikanth said today in Chennai.

Speaking at the launch of the movie, which is directed by K S Ravikumar and produced by Eros International in association with Soundarya Rajinikanth's Ocher Studios, he said, "It is a challenging task to do a period film. I am sure we will pull it off".

Deepika Padukone plays Rajinikanth's heroine and the movie has cinematography by Rathanavelu and music by A R Rahman. A grand set resembling 17th century has been erected at the AVM Studios, where the film went on floors today.

ஏ.வி.எம். ஸ்டூடியோவில் எட்டாவது தளத்தில் படத்திற்கான பிரம்மாண்ட செட் போடப்பட்டுள்ளது. படக் குழுவிற்கு சம்பந்தம் இல்லாதவர்கள் அத்துமீறி பிரவேசிப்பதை தவிர்க்க, யூனிட்டார் அனைவருக்கும் “Access Card” வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. அந்த கார்டை காட்டினால் தான் அந்த தளத்திற்குள் செல்லமுடியும். மிகவும் பிரம்மாண்டமாக நிர்மாணிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள இந்த செட்டில் தான் படப்பிடிப்பு துவங்குக்கிறது.

படத்தின் மூன்று நாயகிகளும் இறுதி செய்யப்பட்டுவிட்டதாக கூறுகிறார்கள். தீபிகா இளைய ரஜினிக்கு ஜோடியாகவும், இரண்டாம் ரஜினிக்கு இலியானாவும், மூத்த ரஜினிக்கு ஜோடியாக தபுவும் ஒப்பந்தம் செய்யப்பட்டுவிட்டார்கள் என இன்றைய டெக்கான் குரோனிக்கில் நாளிதழ் கூறுகிறது. படத்தின் பூஜை ஏ.வி.எம்.மில் உள்ள பிள்ளையார் கோவிலில் மிகவும் எளிமையாக நடைபெறும் என்று தெரிகிறது.

Thalaivar's Rana postponed

Rajinikanth's upcoming film, Rana, which was supposed to hit the floors today, has been postponed by a week. The special set, which is being designed for the muhurat, is in the final stages of its completion, which has delayed the movie launch.

Sources say that a huge set is being erected at the AVM Studios, Chennai, and as it is the 17th century set, art director Rajeevan could not complete it on time. Generally, an epic scale set takes much time than a normal one. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone have completed the initial photoshoots of the film.

Rana is directed by KS Ravikumar. The historical movie is jointly produced by Soundarya Rajinikanth and Eros International. Oscar Award winner AR Rahman will score the music for the film and Rathnavelu will handle the camera

தலைவரின் பாட்ஷா புதிய டிஜிட்டல் முறையில்

1995 ஆம் ஆண்டு பாட்ஷா ரிலீசான போது, அதன் பிரம்மாண்ட வெற்றியின் மூலம் தமிழ் சினிமாவில் அது பரபரப்பை ஏற்படுத்தயது. ரஜினியின் ஸ்டைலும் அவர் பேசிய பன்ச் வசனமும் (நான் ஒரு தடவை சொன்னா நூறு தடவை சொன்னா மாதிரி!) ரசிகர்களிடம் பலத்த வரவேற்ப்பை பெற்று, சூப்பர் ஸ்டாரை எங்கோ கொண்டு சென்றது.

உடனடியாக அதை ஹிந்தியில் வெளியிட விரும்பி அதன் ரீமேக் உரிமைகள் அபாரமாக விற்பனையாகின. அமிதாப் பச்சான் அதில் நடிப்பதாக இருந்தது. ஆனால் படத்தை பார்த்த அமிதாப், “ரஜினி பின்னி பெடலெடுத்திருக்கிறார். அவர் போல நிச்சயம் என்னால் செய்யமுடியாது” என்று நடிக்க மறுத்துவிட்டார். தனது ஏ.பி.சி.எல். நிறுவனம் சார்பாக அதை உடனடியாக டப் செய்து வெளியிட்டார். அது நிறைய பேருக்கு தெரியாது.

இந்நிலையில், அதன் ரீமேக் மற்றும் ஹிந்தி வெளியீட்டு உரிமையை வைத்திருக்கும் பத்ரகாளி வர பிரசாத் ராவ் அதை கிராபிக்ஸ் மூலம் கலர்புல் ஆக்கி விரைவில் வெளியிட இருக்கிறார். இது குறித்து பிரசாத் ராவ் கூறுகையில், “தமிழில் பாட்ஷா ரிலீசாகி வெற்றி பெற்ற சூட்டோடு, அமிதாப்ஜியை வைத்து ஹிந்தியில் இதை நான் வெளியிட நினைத்தது உண்மைதான். ஆனால்; அமிதாப் அதற்க்கு பிறகு தீவிர அரசியலில் குதித்தால், அதை வெளியிட முடியவில்லை. ஹிந்தில் ‘எந்திரன்’ என்ற பெயரில் ரிலீசாவதற்கு முன்பே, பாட்ஷாவின் ஹிந்தி உரிமை மற்றும் டப்பிங் ரைட்ஸை நான் வாங்கி வைத்திருந்தேன். தமிழ் மட்டுமல்லாது ஹிந்தியிலும் ரஜினிக்கு மார்க்கெட் அபாரமாக இருக்கிறது. எனவே பாட்ஷாவை ரிலீஸ் செய்ய இது தான் சரியான தருணம்.”

படத்தை கலர் கரக் ஷன் செய்வதற்கு பெரிய தொகையை செலவிட்டிருக்கிறார் பிரசாத் ராவ். “Colour Restoration மற்றும் DI Correction என்று சொல்லப்படும் இரண்டையும் செய்திருக்கிறேன். இடையிடையே வரும் பிளாஷ் பேக் நெகடிவ் காட்சிகளை மாற்றி புதிய முறையில் அமைத்திருக்கிறேன். டைட்டில் கிராப்க்ஸை புதிதாக செய்திருக்கிறேன். (ஒரிஜினல் படத்திலேயே இவையெல்லாம் பிரமாதாமாக இருக்கும். அதை மேலும் மேருகேற்றியிருக்கிறார்கள் என்றால், எப்படி இருக்கும்? வாவ்!) தவிர ஒரிஜினல்; மோனோ சவுன்ட்டில் வெளியானது. ஆனால் தற்போது ஸ்டீரியோ இசையில் 5.1 சானலில் இசை புதிதாக கோர்க்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஒரிஜினல் படத்திற்கு இசையமைத்த தேவா, ஹிந்திக்கும் பின்னணி இசை சேர்த்திருக்கிறார். ஆடியன்சுக்கு படத்தை புதிதாக பார்ப்பது போல இருக்கும்.” என்று கூறுகிறார் பிரசாத் ராவ்.

அவர் மேலும் கூறியதாவது, மே முதல் வாரத்தில் ஹிந்தி பதிப்பின் இசை வெளியீடு நடைபெறும் எனவும், இதை வெளியிட சூப்பர் ஸ்டாரை அனுகப்போவதாகவும் கூறுகிறார். படம் மே இறுதியில் உலகம் முழுதும் வெளியாகும் எனவும் கூறும் பிரசாத் ராவ், தமிழ் மற்றும் தெலுங்கிலும் வெளியிட தயாராக இருப்பதாகவும் ஆனால் ரீமேக் உரிமைகள் தம்மிடம் இல்லை எனவும் அதை பெற முயற்சித்து வருவதாகவும் கூறுகிறார் பிரசாத் ராவ்.

Film to be shoot new

The city was abuzz with rumours that the photo shoot of Rana, Superstar Rajinikanth’s much anticipated movie, took place at the AVM Studios in Chennai recently.

The movie produced by Eros International is directed by ace filmmaker K.S. Ravikumar and the Superstar’s daughter Soundarya Ashwin taking the onus of technical direction.

The grapevine has it that heroine Deepika Padukone was in the city for a day for the photo shoot which was kept under wraps. Rajini’s different looks and few romantic combo scenes of the lead pair were shot by cinematographer Randy at the specially created sets at the 11th floor of the studio.

A close studio source confirmed that a highly guarded photo shoot was carried out recently with ‘thalaivar’ rocking in fashionable costumes designed by a Mumbai based fashion designer.

The same source revealed that shooting is to start in a week’s time in the same studios at the 8th floor which is said to be Rajini’s lucky mascot to commence shooting of his new movies. A huge set has been put up by Ocher where KSR has planned to can important scenes for about 20 days. Even Enthiran was shot here first, he claimed.

Soon after the photo shoot Rajinikanth along with his entire family left for Mumbai to watch the World Cup finals cricket match scheduled for today.
